URI- The Aftermath

In the wee hours of the morning yesterday when few of us had risen from our sleep, Four Pakistani army irregulars (the entire terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan is an extension of the PA) attacked the Indian army Brigade headquarters at Uri. Seventeen of our brave Jawans were martyred almost immediately as the Terrorists threw grenades at diesel drum they were filling, another 19 soldiers were injured before all four perpetrators were killed by paratroopers responding to the attack. The Worst terror attack to hit the Indian Army in 26 years was over!

For the last 36 hours we have seen the government hold inconclusive meetings while the man on the street of India calls for revenge. However the possibility of a retaliatory assault seems to be getting even more remote with every passing hour. The Ruling NDA will learn the impact of these pussyfooted decisions in the upcoming assembly polls for sure.

This begs the question if immediate Military assaults are not an option what is? Listed below  is a series of measures Both Overt and Covert to be applied in the International Arena and the Domestic arena which should Give Pakistan Cause to think twice the next time they attempt to attack India.

International:

A) Overt

1) Close embassy & cut diplomatic links with Pakistan, declare all Pakistanis in India as persona non grata. Our High commissioner should be rescued from basket case of a nation he’s in & the terror den that the Pak embassy in Delhi is should be immediately shuttered.

2) Close all border transit points. We don’t need cross border bus and train lines with a terrorist nation.

3) Disallow PIA & other Pakistani airlines from overflying India. This will practically force all PIA flights to South East Asia to circumvent the Subcontinent expending extra fuel and increasing costs, let’s have them do that!

4) Disallow Pakistan flagged merchant vessels from Indian ports.

5) Impose Economic Sanctions, tell MNCs operating in both nations that

We want them to operate solely here, should they choose to operate in both countries, extra taxes will apply. For example Companies like Honda, Suzuki, Mitsubishi need to take a call on whether they want to operate in a nation which buys 150,000 cars/ annum or a nation that buys 20,00,000 cars/annum.

6) Give shelter to Baloch leadership, allow them to establish Baloch govt in exile in Delhi. India should also help the Baloch get recognition from friendly govts like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Mauritius etc.

8) Dissolve SAARC create new regional body without Pakistan. Give incentives to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal & Bhutan. The SAARC is moribund due to Pakistan’s duplicity the sooner it’s disbanded for a more wholesome economic grouping the better.

9) No Pak TV or websites to be allowed to transmit in India.

10) Scrap IWT. The Indus water treaty of 1960 grants 80% of all waters of the five river system to Pakistan while our own farmers in Punjab, UP etc. clamor for water. This is a treaty that’s unfair to our own farmers and has no place in the current India.

B) Covert

1) Create assassination teams on lines of Sayeret Matkal to kill terror leaders in and outside of Pakistan.Isreal used the assassination team of Sayeret Matkal to hunt down Palestinian leaders responsible for the Munich Olympic massacre in varied locations around the world. We need to start thinking & working on these lines.

2) Fund Sindhi & Baloch separatism, create separate offshore 5-10$bil fund for same. India needs to create offshore accounts for the Free Sindhudesh and Baluchistan movements, let them use those funds to help their besieged people in whatever way they deem fit.

3) Reactivate the Chota Rajan Card, fund similar gangs to create an anti ISI network. Weed out hawala network. The Dark underbelly of Crime must be infiltrated and the Hawala networks used by the ISI to fund terror must be dismantled piecemeal.

4) Fund an Indo- Afghan force to hit Pakistan from the rear. The Afghans have suffered from Pakistani terror as we have. It’s time we went all out to support the Afghans in this struggle. We should fund an Afghan SF force that can strike at high value Pak Intel and terror targets within Pakistan and in the lawless frontier area.

5) create a fifth echelon of Hackers etc. to strike into Pak govt servers.

6) Fund rebel politicos & media in Pakistan to popularize Indian narrative inside Pakistan.

National:

Greek Zubr class Hovercraft

A) Overt

1) Repeal article 370 & remove all privileges of Kashmiri’s above that of a normal Indian. Remove quotas for Kashmiri students in colleges in other parts of India & reduce subsidies to the same level as any person in UP or MP.

2) Cancel all privileges of separatists, treat them like the street thugs they are. No State subsidy, security or documentation for separatists, we need to start treating the Hurriyet like the terrorists they are!

3) Impose Gag orders on anti national press & NGOs, cleanse the Jaichands.

4) Carte Blanche for artillery to be used for cross border fire exchanges, deploy helicopter gunships for border patrols. Give the Indian army a free hand on retaliatory fire across the LOC, the only thing that needs to be cleared from high command should be putting boots across the LOC.

4) Improve border & base security measures, create a plan to be followed on mission mode. We need to identify Army & Airforce bases which lie in close proximity to terrorist infiltration routes, these bases need to be modernized with the latest security measures possible.

5) Improve basic infantry gear. Our grunts need better gear, to have men die from want of basic equipment like Bullet proof jackets and Night Vision goggles is simply preposterous.

6) Partition Jammu& Kashmir into a state of Jammu & two union territories of Ladakh &the Kashmir valley to be directly administered via Delhi. The Kashmir valley needs to be administered directly from Delhi until the separatism has been completely uprooted, Jammu deserves its own government and should be treated as such.

7) People from valley to be disallowed subsidized services, education or Job opportunities in the rest of India (including Jammu & Ladakh) unless they sign a declaration recognizing Kashmir as Indian Territory. Anybody who wants independence has no right to impinge on the rights of ordinary Indians in either case.

8) Sir Creek. India should raise a marine division and firmly imposed our position on Sir Creek, we need to arm such a force with powerful amphibious assets like the Zubr Assault Hovercraft.

B) Covert

1) Create kill teams of former militants within Kashmir. India should create assassination teams of former militants that can be used to hunt down terrorists infiltrating across the LOC.

2) Create a kibbutz network of ex Kashmiri troops & policemen within Kashmir. We need to create a series of military town within Kashmir populated by Former soldiers who can be allowed to keep assault rifles at home, these colonies should be attached to military bases in the region.

3) Upgrade information network within India with ELINT & HUMINT assets.

Short of Military action these actions if taken will cause severe financial and diplomatic losses to Pakistan. That said a military option remains the most potent option available.
